Hoarders and their Keepsakes

Having lived with hoarders I know how it feels to be driven out of space by tons of stuff that should no longer be kept inside (or outside) the house for that matter. Hoarders love to keep useless stuff that should never be saved in the first place.

Hoarding stack upon stack of decades-old past issues of women magazine is just one example. Giving the feeble excuse that, "I still want to read them one day." just don't go down well with me or anybody else in their right minds. Yeah sure, there are so many lovely pictures and articles in there. But what's the use if those mags are never opened nor even glimpsed at. They are just kept there just for the sake of having them around. That's sick. Much security you get from a stack of old dusty outdated magazines, huh? As if.

"Knock, knock. Hey lady, you need some fixing up there?"

Then there's another hoarder who keeps almost everything in every nook and cranny. Notes, memos, minutes collected from past careers still find themselves being pampered and loved by the owner that they deserved a special place in his home. (*eyes rolling in disgust*). Try throwing these junks away and you'll be surprised to find them back again inside the home, obviously revered by the owner.(*again, eyes rolling in more disgust*)

Then there's a 'collection' of boxes upon empty boxes perched menacingly on cabinet tops making the place so unkempt and literally, over the top. Any attempts to clear these eyesores would guarantee a violent and hostile reaction from this junk collector.. So, do I dare to incur the wrath of this hoarder? No siree. It's his house, his mess, his business. What's junk to most people is keepsake for him. As disgusted as I am at this irrational behaviour, still I have to respect the homeowner's idiosyncrasy. Lest I'll be kicked out of his house.

So was I mad when an old luggage with a hole the size of China managed to find its way back into the home of this hoarder after I had dragged it out? Nope. Just kept myself cute and mute.

It's not unusual for hoarders to keep empty boxes but it looks okay only if you have the space and is this organised
However, I wish I could get rid of all those old, useless stuff and make room for things that really matter and spruce up this junk house.

I'd be grateful if one day these hoarders could finally see what the others see. Can you help me convince them to change their ways? If you can, I'll give you their prized possessions for free. Honest, I will.
