Money Or Your Life?

Why are we so obsessed with money?

Granted money is a necessity. Without it you can hardly survive. But it borders on absurdity if you get so hooked up on money that you forget to live your life. It’s as if money is more important than your life.

In all your busy-ness chasing after money when are you going to slow down and stop to start smelling the roses? Once you have retired and your senses have dulled? By then your nose has probably fallen off your face or that your sense of smell has probably vanished. You may end up not being able to smell the roses at all.

Or maybe you thought you’ll stop once you have acquired enough money. But how much is enough? It seems the more money you have the more you want. It will never stop unless you yourself draw the line.

It is a pity when after retirement just when you thought it's time for you to enjoy your money to your despair you discover that your body has also reached its retirement. How are you to pursue your dream of being a dancer when all your joints are now stiff with arthritis or that you finally want to fly an airplane but you have now forgotten which is your left and which is your right.

By all means work to get money but do also remember to live your life and pursue your dreams. If money can be finished once it's spent so does your body. When you work too hard your body is spent too and you're finished; sometimes way before your time. That's when you have expired and has no more life to live.

So never lose sight of the reason why you pursue money in the first place. It helps to keep things in perspective. Just remember that having all the money in the world doesn’t mean a thing if you are not living your life. After all you only get to live your life once.

Do yourself a favour. Get yourself unhooked from the obsession on money and start living your life.
